2o (360 x 218 mm). Title within architectural woodcut border, numerous woodcut illustrations in text. Contemporary blindstamped vellum decorated in silver with initials "SRD" a central coat-of-arms and the date "1612" on upper cover (light wear to joints and corners).
FIRST EDITION of the Opera omnia edited by Caspar Bauhin, and containing the most complete edition of the Commentarii as Mattioli's medical tracts. The woodcuts are copies from the Camerarius translation, and over 300 new woodcuts which were commissioned by Bauhin. Adams M-906; Nissen BBI 1309.
