    FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY MAULDIN TO ELEANOR ROOSEVELT on the front free endpaper: "To Eleanor Roosevelt and 'Tommy' -- Merry Christmas Bill Mauldin" and with a small self-caricature. Tommy was Malvina Thompson, Eleanor Roosevelt's private secretary.
