4° (224 x 155mm). 7 folding tables, 2 lithographic plates by J. Dureau, one hand-coloured. (Occasional light browning, some light spotting to preliminary and final leaves.) Late 19th-century half blue calf gilt. Provenance: James Blyth (c.1782-1865) (armorial bookplate).
An early publication from Mauritius. The Almanach de l'Ile de Maurice, issued in 1828 and 1837, was a continuation from the Mauritius Calendar begun in 1815. Whilst the 1828 publication was edited by Tristan Mallac and others, this 1837 issue was edited and printed by the newspaper, the Cernéen, which also issued a yearly sheet-almanac from 1833. A directory and calendar, the almanac also includes a chronological table of events on Mauritius from 1507, and a hand-coloured lithographic plate of signals. Toussaint B 49.
