Further details
A group of 'Dynastic Sequence' codex vessels are a distinct sub-catagory within the mostly mythologically-based iconography associated with the codex style. The typical hieroglyphic texts painted on these vessels included list of very ancient or even apocryphal kings at times including emblem glyphs. All the dates given in the fifty-two year Calendar Round are not anchored in the Long Count. These painted texts create a bridge between a mythological and legendary dynastic past.
