INSCRIBED BY LOCKHART TO THE ACTOR HAROLD GOULD on the cover of a Playbill (from the Morosco Theater run in New York) for Death of a Salesman which has been glued in facing the half-title: "To my dear friend Harold--who knows that the secret of life is faith and love. With admiration, Gene Lockhart."
