V, margin of ca. 10 plates very lightly waterstained, some plates in vols. IV-VIII very lightly browned or with mainly marginal light spotting, ca. 5 plates very lightly soiled or very lightly stained), contemporary half calf, blue and green morocco lettering-pieces (head of spine of vol. The originals for the finely-coloured and botanically accurate plates are mostly by Pancrace Bessa, although there are a few by his master Ferner Redouté and Pierre-Antoine Poiteau. In addition to the highly decorative flowering plants and the more exotic species, some fruit are also included in the work. (8)
