8°. Title and heading on A3r in red and black, 157 woodcuts of which 5 double-page, 78 half-page or large and 74 small. (Title soiled and with a small piece missing from top fore-corner affecting a letter of text, 2 small holes in same leaf with very minor loss of title, some waterstaining and light browning.) 19th-century calf-backed boards (spine slightly rubbed).
One of a large number of editions of this hugely popular guide for pilgrims to the Holy Land with double-page views of Corfu, Modone, Candia, Rhodes and Cairo and smaller views of Venice, Jerusalem, Tunis, etc. as well as illustrations of animals and plants. The first edition appeared in 1500 and it was still being printed as late as 1770. Sander 5007; Essling 1986.
