A natural draughtsman, he has a love of detail and works in pen and indian ink on watercolour paper and colours with inks and gouache. Self taught, he is influenced by Bateman, Pont and ffolkes, and the themes of his cartoons are drawn from the burlesques of everyday life. Having exhibited at The Fine Art Society in 1999, he draws extensive private caricatures and corporate commissions, and his cartoons are in many private collections, including Annabels. Preston, 40, works from his studio outside Tetbury in Gloucestershire, and is currently chairman of The Cartoon Art Trust, as well as a member of The British Cartoonist's Association. In 2002, he collaborated with Alistair Sampson and produced the highly sucessful Liquid Limericks, a compendium of verse and cartoons covering wines of the world.
