FIRST EDITION IN FRENCH, 51 (of 53) double-page engraved maps, most by Frans Hogenberg, most embellished with ships or sea creatures, captions within elaborate scrollwork cartouches, letterpress text on rectos, woodcut capital initials, ruled in brown ink throughout, with last leaf blank.
