RARE FIRST EDITION. With the Beckford Collection label of Bernard Quaritch dated July, 1883 on first blank. Ovington sailed as Chaplain of an East India Co. ship and remained in Bombay and Surat, giving excellent descriptions of both cities and particularly of Mogul administration of the region.
