A PAIR OF GILT-BRONZE AND CLOISONNE ENAMEL CYLINDRICAL VASES
CHINA, QING DYNASTY, JIAQING PERIOD (1796-1820)
The cylindrical body decorated with eight rows of gilt shou 'longevity' characters on a blue enamel ground below a keyfret border, the foot decorated with lotus petals lappets, the base with incised sealmark reading Wei Yang Tang Wan Heng Zao ; tiny restorations on one vase
Compare this pair of vases with a similarly decorated bowl, inscribed with a Jiaqing mark, and illustrated by H. Brinker and A. Lutz, Chinese Cloisonné : The Pierre Uldry Collection, Zurich, 1989, pl. 347.
