2o (277 x 192 mm). (Lower corner of title and second leaf renewed with loss of some letters, some intermittent worming at gutter margin occasionally catching letters.) Contemporary limp vellum (front joint loose).
FIRST EDITION of this chronicle in which the noted Bishop Palafox y Mendoza defends himself against the Dominicans, Franciscans and Augustinians. Folios 89 to 96 (16 pages), contain the complete list of all clerics (names and positions) working at the time in the Diocese of Puebla, very important in New Spain. On folios 227 and 274 are mentioned the years 1644 and 1648 (cf. Genaro Garcia). RARE: no copies of this appear in American Book Prices Current in the last 30 years.
