A BRONZE 'PEACOCK' SCULPTURE
Cast after a model by François Pompon, 1918, executed in 1928
Signed in the maquette POMPON, foundry mark CIRE PERDUE A. A. HEBRARD, numbered B7, old label from the Hébrard workshop to the underside of the base.
This piece was gifted originally to the daughter of Albino Palazzolo, Hebrard's master artisan, who was himself involved in the cast of Degas cire perdue bronzes at the time.
Bought by the present owner from Bernard Lorenceau in January 1966
