Patek Philippe began production of reference 3448 with the 27-460 Q caliber movement in 1962. Only 586 examples were made, very few of which were cased in white gold, platinum or pink gold.
Examples in 18K white gold with integral bracelets are extremely rare. The present lot is further distinguished by the grey finish to the dial, which is darker in color to traditional silvered dials.
Patek Philippe confirm production of this watch in 1977 and its subsequent sale on December 30th, 1980.
Reference 3448 is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, 2nd edition, p. 288. It is also featured in Ore d'Oro 2 by Jader Barracca, Giampiero Negretti, Franco Nencini, p. 45.
