Accompanied by Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin & Warranty and Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1923 and its subsequent sale on 15 December 1926. Furthermore delivered with a wooden presentation box.
It is interesting to note that Patek Philippe's highest quality watches can be distinct by the movement number printed on the dial. Another characteristic of such a watch are the hidden or invisible hinges.
According to the engraved inscription on the cuvette, the present watch was given to Theodore Fremd, a deserving member of the Village of Rye and after whom streets and buildings in Rye were named. Rye, located in the state of New York, is the oldest town in Westchester County. Its history dates back to 1660, when the first settlers arrived and founded a quiet farming and fishing community. The "Town of Rye" was established with official boundaries in 1788, and in 1904, Rye was officially incorporated as a village. In 1942, that status was elevated to "city."
