Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1945 and its subsequent sale on 6 May 1946. To the best of our knowledge, it has never been offered in public before.
Reference 565 was introduced in 1938 and was available both with sweep centre and subsidiary seconds. The first generation of centre seconds movements used for this model was the legendary caliber 12''' SC, derived from the better known subsidiary seconds caliber 12'''120.
Research shows that less than 10 examples of this model in stainless steel with the elaborate movement 12''' SC are known to date.
The present watch is an extremely fine example of a reference 565 as it combines several desirable features such as the stainless steel case, a two-tone silvered dial and the rare caliber 12''' SC, designed by Victorin Piguet.
A similar watch is illustrated in Ore d'Oro 2 by Jader Barracca, Giampiero Negretti, Franco Nencini, pl. D12.
