This watch is accompanied by a Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production in 1928 and its subsequent sale on September 5th, 1930.
The present watch is most probably unique in that it is the only known example of a jump hour wristwatch with passing digital minutes ever made in platinum. The other recorded example with the same dial configuration is pictured from the archives and is illustrated in Patek Philippe by Martin Huber and Alan Banbery Vol.2, p. 120. The whereabouts of this watch are unknown.
One other early jump hour wristwatch which is known to have been offered at auction is a rectangular model made in yellow gold but with the more standard regulator style dial.
Due to the fascination with the jump hour design, Patek Philippe created a modern limited edition series of 500 pieces to celebrate their 150th anniversary in 1989.
