Accompanied by Patek Philippe Certificate of Identity and Guarantee of Origin dated November 1974, Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1974 and its subsequent sale on 14 August 1974 and presentation box. Furthermore delivered with Patek Philippe original invoice dated 29 October 1991 for a revision of the movement. It is thought that the present watch has never been offered at auction before.
Reference 3597/2, the largest wristwatch ever made by Patek Philippe, was launched in 1970 and fitted with an electronic movement, introduced into the market at the Basle Fair in April 1970.
The Beta-21 calibre was developed by a consortium of watch companies, including Patek Philippe, at the Swiss Electronic Research Centre or CEH (Centre Electronique Horloger) in Neuchâtel. It was the first quartz movement for wristwatches with analog display.
