Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming manufacture of the present watch in 1874 and its subsequent sale on 19 July 1875. It also confirms that the original case has been replaced by the actual one, ref. 839, in 1962 on request of the customer.
Furthermore delivered with a Patek Philippe presentation box and outer packaging.
The present watch appears to be unique, as no other reference 839 is known to this day. The rarity of this watch is enhanced by the highly unusual dial featuring both uneven subsidiary dials and the outer Railway five minute divisions. Whereas antique and complicated movements by Patek Philippe can be found in modern openface cases, it is very noteworthy to point out the early gilt movement in a modern hunting case.
