Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1941 and its subsequent sale on 27 August 1941.
The chronograph wristwatch reference 1506 was introduced to the market in 1941, the same year when this watch was made. The particularity and rarity of this model, besides the large size, is unquestionably the unusual design of the multi-facetted extended lugs. It appears that only a very small series of this reference was produced. Until today, only three examples in yellow gold and two in pink gold cases have been offered publicly.
The present watch previously never offered at auction becomes now the fourth example of this exotic model in yellow gold to appear in public.
The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 267, pl. 413.
