PRICED in a contemporary hand. Petit was the son of François, personal physician to the Duke of Orléans, who left his considerable collection to his sons Antoine-François and Henri in equal parts. Antoine-François continued adding works to his his share of the library and developed significant holdings in medicine, natural history and science. Blogie II, col. 19; North 366.
