FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE, with mottled lavender endpapers and cover design of a cat's head within small circle, PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY BEATRIX POTTER'S FATHER, RUPERT on the half-title (in pencil): "Mrs. Moore from Rupert Potter Christmas 1905."
