Woodcut device on title and at end, with the final blank (a little light spotting). Late 18th-century vellum-backed boards (a trifle soiled). Provenance: L.O. Bigg (book-label). The first appearance of Bernardinus Turrisanus' name in a Venetian Aldine edition. Censimento CNCE 53613; Adams Q20; Renouard 211/3.
CATECHISM. Catechismo, cioe istruttione...à parochi, Venice: Aldo Manuzio, 1567. 4° (197 x 143mm). Woodcut device on title (some staining and waterstaining, tear in upper margin of last 2 leaves affects text slightly, worming in many upper margins and in the text at the end with minimal loss, 2 small holes in title with no loss). Contemporary limp vellum (rebacked with paper, soiled, lacks ties). Provenance: as above. According to Renouard the first book to be printed by Aldus the younger.
