The chart orientated to the West, coastlines in black ink with coastal hill shading, sea in green with anchorage symbols, numerous depth soundings particularly in the shores around Massawa and the Yemen coastline, rhumb-lines and north point, central graticule, inset title four inset plans of the harbours of Messawa, and Guedain in Ethiopia and Port Goof and cheque Oumar near Jiddah.
An interesting French chart of the southern Red Sea with detailed surveys of the Massawa, Yemen and Jiddah coasts, probably carried out by the French Navy on station in the Red Sea.
