Lot Essay

Another drawing bought by Uvedale Price (in Rome) in 1768 was offered at Christie's, Paris, 27 March 2003, lot 69. The present drawing was probably part of the group mentioned by Frits Lugt as having been bought by Price in Perugia in June 1768 at a house where Salvator Rosa often stayed (under L. 2048).
