Reprints papers read at weekly public conferences at the Bureau d'Adresse which Renaudot conducted from the summer of 1633 until fall of 1642. "These conferences, in which as many as six speakers participated, offered a wide variety of intellectual fare to the French public; the topics, chosen by the public, ranged indiscriminately over the fields of philosophy, morality and conduct, science, and the fantastic" (Norman). This collection contains the first four volumes of the Recueil gnral, with reports of confrences held from the beginning of the series up to 10 June 1641. Norman 1823.
