Original blue cloth gilt, top edge gilt (extremities slightly bumped, spines slightly soiled).

FIRST EDITION OF 'THE FAMOUS, OFFICIAL EXPEDITION ACCOUNT' (CONRAD), presented by Mrs. Wilson to her father recalling the death of her husband and his comrades on their return journey from the South Pole. Edward Wilson and Oriana Souper were married by her father the Rev. F.A. Souper on 16 July 1901, shortly before Wilson's departure for the South with Scott's Discovery expedition of 1901-1904.
