The Rolex Zerograph Ref:3346 and Centregraph Ref:3462 are arguably the first "Oyster" chronographs. The watches differ in the fact that the Zerograph has a calibrated bezel while the Centregraph has a milled bezel with dot and baton markers. These watches were created by adding a return mechanism to the standard 10 1/2 ligne hunter sweep seconds movement. This allowed the wearer to time a single event by rotating the bezel to match the minute hand and returning the second hand to zero, by means of the pusher then measuring the elapsed time on the bezel.
