212 x 254mm. Several minor surface scratches, minor spotting. An attractive sepia-toned image of the 32nd President, holding a pen in his right hand, seated at a desk on which papers are stacked. Boldly inscribed in ink in blank bottom margin: "For the American Embassy in Tokyo from Franklin D. Roosevelt."
Provenance: U.S. Embassy, Tokyo, Japan -- Recovered among debris and discarded embassy furnishings in August 1945 by a 19-year-old soldier of the 1st Cavalry Division stationed in Tokyo with MacArthur's occupation force.
