Printer's device on title, numerous woodcut illustrations, some full-page, 4 with volvelles, with the final blank. (Lightly waterstained.) Modern vellum. Provenance: library stamp (on verso of title, partly erased).
Joannes de Sacrobosco or John Holywood, a monk of English origin, owes his reputation as an astronomer chiefly to this astronomical textbook. It was first published in Ferrara in 1472. Adams H733.
