(Some spotting, occasional neat repairs). 20th-century cloth titled in gilt on spine or modern thin blue paper-covered boards with titles on labels on upper cover.
The Saint Helena Almanac and Annual Register. St Helena: George Gibb, 1855 and 1858. 2 volumes various, 8° (180 x 120mm. and larger). Title of first volume printed in brown. Modern thin blue paper-covered boards and original cloth-backed boards (the second binding torn woth loss).
A FASCINATING AND RARE RUN OF THESE EPHEMERAL PRODUCTIONS FROM ST. HELENA: each volume includes the names of all those involved in the running of the island (both military and civil) and a tally of the ships that called in at the island. The calendar includes a list of all the inhabitants 'of European birth or descent'. (14)
