Lot Essay

The vendor apparently became friendly with Sean Connery shortly before he became world famous as James Bond 007 in the first film of the series Dr. No released in 1962. Connery lent the vendor this dinner suit in circa 1962 when they were both attending a dinner at the Dorchester Hotel and the vendor didn't have a dinner suit of his own to wear.
