The Seat of War in the East ...First [Second] Series, London: Day & Son for Paul & Dominic Colnaghi & Co., 1855-6. 2 volumes in one, 2° (556 x 368mm). 2 coloured lithographed titles, dedication to Queen Victoria and 79 coloured tinted lithographed plates by E. Walker, J. Needham and others after William Simpson. (Plates and text loose, hinges broken, some mainly light spotting and dampstaining). Contemporary half red morocco, spine decorated and lettered in gilt (upper cover detached, rubbed and discoloured). Provenance: Lt. Col. W.C. Fitzgerald (hand-written sticker stating the present copy was presented to the Royal Irish Fusiliers Museum). FIRST EDITION. Abbey Travel 237.
