George Hulme, a freelance rider in the 1920s and 1930s, was listed as one of the principal jockeys of the day. The lowest weight he made was 8 stone and 3 lbs. The colours in the present composition are those of Mr. Anthony de Rothschild who was a member of the Jockey Club as well as being a successful owner of several horses with Tom Cannon in Newmarket.
