Lot Essay

Gunn visited the Cote d'Azure in the summer of 1926. The following March he exhibited eleven landscapes from this visit at P. & D. Colnaghi & Co. in London. The majority of these were painted at Antibes including Boats, Antibes and Harbour, Antibes. Just one picture of Cannes, almost certainly the present work, was shown.
