Autograph Souvenir' card signed in purple ink by John Tenniel and inscribed: '"Oh, that men should put an enemy in their mouth to steal away their brains!" (Shakespeare)'; letters by Phil May, Walter Crane, Bernard Partridge and Harry Furniss, all laid down, the last stating: 'I now send you Portrait of Myself in imitation of Whistler's work -- I think something of this so do not have it too much reduced'; and the signatures of Queen Victoria, George Duke of Cambridge, Alfred Duke of Edinburgh, William Ewart Gladstone, Joseph Chamberlain, H.H. Asquith, Randolph Churchill, John Bright, Marcus Stone, Edward Poynter, J.E. Millais, William Powell Frith, J. Noel Paton, Louis Wain, Hans Richter, Henry Russell, Nellie Melba, Florence Nightingale, A. Conan Doyle, Robert Browning, Ellen Terry and H. Beerbohm Tree.
