SIX MITANNIAN CYLINDER SEALS
circa mid 2nd millennium b.c.
Including one of haematite engraved with two heraldic lions at the center, an inverted ibex between them, approached from either side by figures in conical hats wielding weapons; one of blue faience with two worshippers before a standing figure surrounded by two birds and two ibexes; one of white faience with two draped figures moving to the right, two stags to the side below a spiral; another of haematite with a worshipper before a seated figure, a guilloche with a bull and a winged animal above, and a group of four animals below; another of white faience with two figures before a sacred tree, ibexes depicted horizontally on either side; and one of green faience with a row of bearded heads in profile between a border of guilloche above and cross-hatching below
