Persian manuscript on paper, 25ll. of black nasta'liq divided by gold clouds in four columns, divisions of gold meandering vine between black rules, blue, red, green and gold margins between black rules, blue outer rule, red, gold and black ruled outer margin, headings in coloured script on gold cartouches in illuminated panels across two panels, illuminated bifolio at start, two others similar, one marking the start of the Kitab Muhtanameh, preceding folio with illuminated colophon dedicated to Sultan Mir Muhammad Nasir Khan Taliper and dated with abjad letters, final folio with colophon signed by 'Ali Baba b. Mirza Muhammad Shirazi and dated 1248, the Siyahnameh with 7 CONTEMPORARY ILLUSTRATIONS in gouache heightened with gold and silver, probably original lacquer binding with cantral panel of floral sprays in floral cartouche border, gold lacquer doublures painted with gul-i bulbul in inscription border - 34 x 21.5cm.
