[SONG COVERS--LITHOGRAPHED]. Approx. 150 lithographed song covers, mostly Boston and Philadelphia, ca. 1840, including approx. 50 with colored or tinted cover illustrations. Subjects include military waltzes, quick steps and quadrilles, minstrel pieces (Shew Fly! and Jim Crow Jubilee, etc.), political songs (The Tippecanoe or Log Cabin Quick Step) and the strangely curious (The Flying Trapeze and, in celebration of the new locomotion, The Express Gallop). A visually striking assembly (conditon varies, unstamped).
