ST. PETERSBURG, Imperial Academy of Science and Art -- Plan de la ville de St. Petersbourg avec ses principales vües, dessiné & gravé sous la direction de l'Academie Imperiale des Sciences & des Artes. St. Petersburg: 1753.
Broadside 2° (510 x 377mm). Letterpress title and 3 leaves of index, all in Russian and French, 17 engraved plates of views (7 folding, 10 double-page). (Lacking the map on 9 sheets, title laid onto cloth, plates divided into sections and laid onto cloth, lower half of final page with pasted-on blank sheet.) 19th-century cloth, titled in gilt on upper cover (neatly rebacked and cornered in roan).
A fine series of views of St. Petersburg, each with titles and in both Russian and French, published by the Imperial Academy of Science and Art. It was intended that this work should also include a large scale map of the city on 9 sheets, although it is rarely found in copies.
