STANLEY'S LECTURE SLIDES
A box containing Stanley's lecture slides comprising: An incomplete set of 27 pictorial coloured slides (of 50) for the Emin Pasha Relief Expedition, published by Sampson, Low and Marston and numbered chronologically; together with a series of 41 pictorial and coloured slides partially numbered, most for the Emin Pasha Relief Expedition; and 11 photographic slides of the Congo Free State, slides 79mm. square, and assembled in a fitted wooden box inscribed '60 magic lantern slides'.
Stanley's slides used on his lecture tours in North America, Britain, Australia and New Zealand. Although incomplete they give a fascinating view of Stanley's exploits in the Congo.
