Frank Pocock. Frederick Barker. A Zanzibar boy. Edward Pocock. Kalulu..', 'Mtesa and his Chiefs' and others; 'Expedition Landing at Kabinda' (1877); 6 photographs of Zanzibar (1870s); two of Admiralty House, Simonstown (1877) (one of Stanley and his men captioned 'After descent of the Congo'); and a pencil sketch by Stanley titled 'Sketch of a portion of the Congo Cataracts below Stanley Pool' and dated 'ruanza Falls 15.1.77'.
THE CONGO EXPEDITION (1879-1882)
Forty-six contact prints including headquarters at Vivi, and the Congo with photographs of 'Camp in the bush', Stanley Pool and Leopoldville, Stanley and his staff, his porters, 'Crossing a river with the 'En Avant'' and others, with approximately seventy-seven contact prints and photographs of the Congo and region, 16 portraits of officers of the Congo Council (including Swinbune, Vetch, de Winton, Elliot and others', two of Stanley, one captioned by Stanley 'HM Stanley 1874'; and eighteen photographs of Stanley's illuminated diplomas and awards; and a humorous watercolour 'On Stanley Pool Civilization advances by leaps and bounds' by 'JFH. Xmas 1884'
