FIRST EDITION PRESENTATION COPY FROM THE AUTHOR TO HER HEIR, inscribed to 'E.S. Mostyn Pryce, Dec. 10th 1896 from the Authoress' on front endpaper, with his engraved armorial bookplate. A popular account of Burton's life, in contrast to Isabel's exaggerated 'Life' and, more especially, in strong disapproval of Burton's so-called bed-conversion. Mostyn Pryce was Georgiana's heir to whom she willed her collection of Burton's letters from his time in India and Isabel's letters to her. Penzer p. 311-312.
