The Boston Pilot Schooner HESPER

A very fine modified scratch built model of this pilot boat based on the plans by Erik Ronneberg. The model is built up in solid hull construction and hollowed. The hull and the deck have been planked. The topsides are painted a matte black and the bottom has been finished with copper plates. The model is well rigged and detailed. The rigging includes standing and running rigging, including ratlines, upper shrouds, halyards, stays, sheets, and other rigging details. The model is detailed with mahogany deck fixtures including companionways and skylights. Other details include anchors, anchor windlass, pin and fife rails, mast hoops, signal cannon, stove pipe, ship's wheel, 2 boats on deck, and numerous other details. The model is mounted on wood supports on a pine board. The model is signed and dated with a brass insert at the bottom of the keel.
