According to the vendor, these signatures were acquired in Liverpool outside the Cavern Club following The Stones' performance there in 1963. The letter on which the signatures are signed was obtained from a passer-by, as the vendor had nothing with her on which the Stones could sign. Bill Wyman recalled that they received a fantastic response from the crowd at the Beatles home club - The Cavern, when they played there on 5th November, 1963...Two thousand fans queued for hours trying to get in. Twenty-five teenagers collapsed from the heat inside the dank, steaming cellar. Mick said afterwards: "Was it hot! We almost sweated away. They've had so many big groups at the Cavern that you've got to prove yourself...They asked us back, so they must have liked us".
The Rolling Stones played at the Odeon, Liverpool on 13th October, 1963 on their first British tour.
