    The Royal Alphabet of Kings and Queens, London: Joseph Cundall for Hailes' Juvenile Library, [1841]. 8° (169 x 107mm). Hand-coloured wood-engraved frontispiece, title vignette and 23 hand-coloured wood-engraved plates by John Gilbert, 2-pages of publisher's advertisements at end. (Occasional light spotting and browning, inner hinges split.) Original green cloth decorated in gilt and blind, gilt edges (a few light stains, corners rubbed). Provenance: ''To Anne H. Johnstone from Mrs Hamilton of Craighlaw, Decr. 1843'' (inscription on front free endpaper). FIRST EDITION. Osborne I, 104; cf. Gumuchian 205 (1860 edition).
