INDENTCaptain Richard Clift Fippard, born 1887, educated Regent Street Polytechnic and London University, gazetted 2nd Lieutenant 14th West Yorks December 1914 and advanced to Captain March 1915. He was killed in action whilst attached to the 1st Lancashire Fusiliers during the further allied offensive on Krithia and Achi Baba, Gallipoli 4 June 1915 and is commemorated on the Cape Helles Memorial.
2087 Corporal Herbert John Fippard, born 1885, brother of Captain R.C.Fippard, educated at Regent Street Polytechnic, joined the 9th Londons shortly after the outbreak of the Great War 20 August 1914. He was killed in action while attending a wounded comrade near Ypres 4 June 1915 (Ruvigny's Roll of Honour Vol 1 refers).
The Fippard brothers, although serving in different theatres of operations, both lost their lives on the same day - 4 June 1915.
