MANGANESE K AND FORK MARK, PROBABLY FOR ERFURT, 18TH CENTURY
Each painted with distinctive architecture, the first with a palm tree issuing from rockwork and centering two similar buildings with arched windows, the cover with crowned initials E.L.N.B.S and dated '1767', pewter footrim lacking; the second with a figure holding aloft a tray of fruit, another pouring water from an urn, both on a grassy mount flanked by a deer in a landscape between trees and with stylized architecture in two registers, the cover initialed BT and dated '1794', domed pewter footrim; the third continuously painted with large houses in a landscape between sponged trees, the cover of similar date but not original to the tankard
