11th (Yorkshire) Company, 3rd Battalion, Imperial Yeomanry.
Private Edwin Pogson, a bricklayer and formerly in the Volunteers, attested at Sheffield on 8.1.1900. He served in South Africa from 28.1.1900 until June 1901 when he was discharged on termination of his year and a half engagement. He rejoined the Imperial Yeomanry in September 1901 and served in South Africa with 117th Company for a further ten months until he was discharged in September 1902. King's South Africa Medals to the Imperial Yeomanry are uncommon as few men saw the requisite service.
