TIMOTHY LEARY WANTED POSTER
A wanted poster issued after the escape of Timothy Leary on September 12, 1970 from the California Men's Colony Prison in San Luis Obispo, California, showing his mug shot and prisoner number. Leary had been serving a term between 6 months to 10 years for marijuana possession, and had been previously arrested in Laguna Beach, Riverside, Laredo, Brooklyn and Detroit, among other cities. Leary was broken out of jail by the revolutionary group The Weathermen, and was eventually caught in Switzerland a few years later.
